[BIOGRAPHY]
Andrés Jiménez is a Colombian composer and arranger whose work emerges from a dialogue between memory, observation, and personal reflection. His music functions as a sonic journal: each piece is born from an attempt to address essential questions about identity, history, and the relationship with the world around him.
Since 2010, he has developed his work alongside marching bands in various regions of Colombia, establishing himself as one of the few composers in the country to have devoted his career to a deep and sustained study of this format. His artistic approach combines a personal aesthetic search with solid technical mastery, shaped through both self-directed learning and formal academic training.
In 2016, he completed his technical studies at the T.A. Débora Arango, where he received a distinction for academic excellence. In 2024, he earned his degree as a Musician with an emphasis in Composition from Universidad EAFIT, graduating with honors for his final recital.
Between 2020 and 2023, he served as a composition instructor at the School of Music of Rionegro, Antioquia, guiding individual creative processes and fostering a reflective and expressive approach among young composers and performers.
He currently works as an independent composer, collaborating with ensembles across the country and developing a musical voice that moves between the intimate and the collective.
